A Letter For Those Who Are Weary
I write to you, dear brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The One Who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, became the propitiation for all of our wickedness and died to set us free.
This same Jesus, I proclaim to you today, was laid in a tomb of stone, borrowed from the disciple by the name of Joseph. The Romans, meticulously sealed the door shut, while soldiers guarded the entrance to dispel anyone seeking to steal His body and claim Him risen.
But on the third day, as the early morning still had not given itself fully over to the light, the ground began to rumble, rocks shifted and trees swayed. No power on this planet was going to stop the King of glory from leaving the darkness of the grave behind.
No will of man, strength in this realm, nor any scheme of the rulers of this present darkness will ever thwart the Father’s plan and purposes. And now, the Everlasting is seated, triumphantly at the right hand of God Eternal. Hell is forever vanquished and sin conquered by the blood of the Lamb, Who is risen and alive!
I have heard, that many of you are weary and discouraged. I, too, feel the pressure of the chaos of this age pressing down upon my shoulders, ever deeper and heavier, day by day. For sin is weighty, and we do not possess the strength nor stamina to withstand in our own fleshly power.
The Spirit may be willing, but the flesh is weak. The things we wish not to do, we end up doing; yet the things we should be doing, we do not. Our struggle is not with flesh and blood, be alert and educated to this truth. Our war is waged against the prince of the power of the air, and it is he and his demons which seek out those to kill, steal and destroy.
But thanks be to God, we have an advocate who fights for us! Jesus Christ is the lifter of the weary head, giving strength to the weak and downcast. Those who wait on Him, will mount up on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary, and they will walk and not faint or become tired.
I encourage you, beloved friends, to lift your eyes upward and rest your hope on the One Who holds all things together with His righteous right hand. His Spirit was sent to sustain you, assist you, guide you and teach you in all wisdom. This gift of the Holy Spirit is your greatest ally, and should never be overlooked or taken for granted.
Take refuge under the shelter of the Almighty’s wing. Allow your heavy burdens to be traded for the yoke of the Lord, for His burden is easy and His yoke is light. Let those who are downcast, release a song of praise. Lift a shout of thanksgiving as you enter His gates and feel the weight begin to melt from your shoulders. There is peace in the pastures of the Father. He will cause you to rest in the greenest of meadows and drink deeply from the refreshing waters that flow from His throne.
When your enemies surround you, it will be the Lord of Host Who goes before you. The might and power of the heavenly angels will be your rear guard. Jesus Christ stands at the ready to battle the forces from the wicked one, you only need to be still. He will bring you through the fire and will lead you through the rising flood waters. They will not overtake you and they will not consume you.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Great will be your reward, for be reminded this is not your home. Run your race hard and with endurance, so that you may be able to fight the good fight and finish strong. There are treasures beyond your greatest imagination awaiting you in glory. No eye has seen and no ear has heard the things God is preparing for us.
Cast all your cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you. Do not allow fear to overtake your heart and mind. Whom shall you fear, when the all powerful, all mighty God is with you? Greater is He that is in you, than he that is in this world, so you can stand firmly on the strength and stability of the Lord.
Finally, never grow tired of doing good and completing the work Jesus has prepared for you. He is faithful and will finish what has been started. Tell the good news of the gospel to all you meet. Above all, remain steadfast and sure in all the promises our Lord and Savior spoke to us.
The battles may continue to rage, but the outcome of the war has already been finalized. Reach out to fellow brothers and sisters with your struggles and needs. Pray for one another and keep each one accountable to the Holy Scriptures. I too, will be praying over each one’s heart and mind, for complete protection from the evil one.
Keep alert and stay diligent. And may the peace of our Lord flow over your heart and mind, keeping you in all confidence.
I will not stop in my prayers for you, dear friends. Hold fast, the time of our Lord’s return draws ever closer and I am confident you will hear Him say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant. Enter into your rest.”
